Rayless Brown knows a lot about heroes but only from the many books he’s read. What he knows for sure, is that he is never going to be a hero to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Rayless can’t even summon the courage to say hello to the beautiful girl next-door, who floats in his dreams nightly.

 

Late one night the King of Nightmares visits Rayless and offers the opportunity to quest for the chance of a dream come true. If he wins this elusive prize, Rayless might gain the love and adoration of the girl he can only manage to speak to in his dreams. Does he have what it takes to turn this if into a when?

 

To take advantage, Rayless must enter a land he has never visited in any book he’s read. It is a land filled with Chimeras, beings that attach to people’s minds to

influence them with daydreams and nightmares.

 

As Rayless comes closer to completing his quest, his mentor, the King of Nightmares, discovers he needs his own dream to become reality even more than Rayless. This king knows how to battle like a hero and is the odds-on favorite.

 

Rayless is not quite ready to just hand over his dream. He must ultimately decide whether to help himself, or the new land he is learning to love.
